Janet will conduct small group sessions of Alexander Technique as it applies to playing your respective instruments. Kim will give small group sessions on creating 18th-century ornamentation.
Gus and Don will offer sessions on recognizing bass line formulas and cadential ornamentation, and to work with an accompanist.
The boot camp culminates in a class recital
Saturday after a morning warm-up. The recital starts at 11:00 AM and
is open to the public. Before a friendly and
supportive audience you will perform music you have worked
on during the week. The recital starts at 11:00 AM so those of you who
need to travel to another time zone will have ample time to get home on
Saturday.
* Masterclass in 20-25 minute increments, each participant
will work with both flute teachers an equal amount of time during the week.
Expect completely different issues and interpretations
from each teacher. Do not cling to one because it feels
more comfortable. Take them both and make your own
interpretation.
** The private mini-lessons will go on concurrently with the
masterclass. That is, during the masterclasses, individuals will be taken
to another room for the private mini-lesson. When your lesson is over, you'll
be asked to send in the next person for their mini-lesson.
